Rainy Day
Canada's first hammam: private steam, a brisk exfoliation, rasul mud and mint tea. Giggling is expected.
Canada's original hammam is on South Granville, which means you can stop pretending the umbrellas are doing anything and just surrender fully to the wet. The ritual goes: private steam room (properly toasty), a gommage exfoliation (brisk in the most satisfying way), a rasul mud chamber, and then mint tea in a lantern-lit lounge that has never heard of a Vancouver grey sky and refuses to acknowledge one exists. It's intimate in the way that getting lightly scrubbed while wearing not much else always is, so arrive having already accepted that this will be a little funny and deeply relaxing in equal measure. Private slots book up fast on rainy weekends, which is to say: book as soon as you have a date, and consider this the best possible argument for rain.
