Mosi does gelato and pastry out of a restored century-old farmhouse on West Saanich Road, which is most of the appeal: it is far enough out that grabbing a cone quietly becomes a whole unhurried afternoon. The tiramisu gelato is the order, the espresso is proper, and the porch and garden make it a place you sit rather than a place you leave. Pair it with a drive out to the peninsula and you have a plan.
