Crust has been a Fort Street fixture since 2013, and its Uptown counter runs the same case: croissants and pain au chocolat that go first, fruit tarts and cakes that hold all day, and espresso that is genuinely good rather than merely present. It is a kiosk rather than a room, so this is a paper bag and a bench instead of a long sit. That is fine here, because Uptown has sun, seating and a whole plaza to walk it off in, and it is the easiest good pastry on this side of Saanich by a distance.
