The espresso is properly made, the prices are honest for a seaside town, and the outdoor seating is the reason to turn up in summer. It runs from early morning to mid-afternoon and closes Sunday and Monday, so it belongs to the front half of a Sidney day rather than the back half.
It is a small room near the top of Beacon Avenue and it is busy for a reason: the case is made fresh that day. Take the quiche or a scone if you have arrived early, the ice cream sandwich if you have not, and claim the outdoor seating if the weather allows. Open 8:30 to 3 Tuesday through Saturday and closed Sunday and Monday, so it only works as a first-half-of-the-day stop. Street parking on Beacon is free with a time limit, and the pier is a four-minute walk.
