Artisan Bistro is the Broadmead surprise: a small French leaning room of about twelve tables tucked into a shopping village, run with far more care than the address would lead you to expect. Breakfast runs 9 to 2 and it is bistro cooking rather than diner cooking, so there is duck in the hash, the bennies are properly made and the coffee is roasted by Fernwood. There is a real wine list as well, which is a strange and welcome thing to find at 10am on a Tuesday.
