Come on a hot day and head straight for the free spray park (open roughly the May long weekend through September, 9am to 8pm), bring a towel and dare each other in. Then wander to the regionally renowned skate-and-bike-trials park and grab a bench to watch the locals, who range from grade-schoolers to genuinely impressive grown-ups. The catch is parking: the small lot caps you at four hours and fills fast on sunny weekends, so arrive early or take Moody Centre SkyTrain and walk in. Don't miss cooling off, then drying out on the pier for the water views.
