Riva sits where Beacon Avenue meets the Salish Sea, so the patio faces open water and the window tables are worth asking for. The kitchen is Italian with a Mediterranean lean and a coastline out front: house pasta, seafood tagliatelle, limoncello prawns, steaks off the grill, a fresh sheet that changes weekly. Local musicians play jazz from 6pm Thursday through Saturday. The patio is dog friendly and has its own dog menu, which explains a great deal about Sidney.
