It is also the practical answer to a Saanichton evening, since it holds on until midnight Tuesday through Saturday when most of the peninsula has long since gone dark.
It is the corner building where Mount Newton Cross Road meets East Saanich Road, and it has been an inn on that spot since 1859. Order from the tap list and take a booth; the portions are famously not small if you want something with it. Open 11 to midnight Tuesday through Saturday, 11 to 10 Monday, and 10 to 10 Sunday. Parking is free in the lot, and the Boulders climbing gym is a fifteen-minute walk if you want a first act.
