More infoDeadly Dinner Party is a new improvised show at the Improv Centre marking the venue's 45th anniversary: five guests arrive at an eccentric millionaire's mansion for dinner, the host turns up dead, and the entire cast builds the suspects, alibis, clues and eventual killer live, in front of you, with nothing scripted. It plays like an Agatha Christie plot where the actors are figuring out the ending in real time, which makes every performance different. It opens Thursday, September 24, then runs Fridays and Saturdays at 7pm through October 30. This is a theatre ticket, not a meal, so eat beforehand or plan a bite at one of the food stalls in the Public Market first.
Book ahead online, this is a small theatre and Friday and Saturday nights sell out. Eat first, on Granville Island or nearby, since the ticket covers the show and not a meal. Settle in for an improvised whodunit where the cast invents the suspects and the killer fresh each night, then argue about who you'd have picked on the walk back to the car.
