Coffee in the Flower Pavilion at Nemesis

An award-winning timber pavilion shaped like a flower, where the room is so good the coffee almost has to apologize for stealing focus.

The date

Nemesis's Great Northern Way flagship is less a cafe than a destination: a curving, flower-shaped timber pavilion by Perkins&Will, all warm birch plywood rising to a central oculus that pours daylight straight down. Order house espresso or a rotating guest roaster with a Dope Bakehouse pastry, then send your date to scout a seat while you queue. Emily Carr's galleries wait next door.
