Break a Sweat
Six 100-metre chutes, a tow back to the top, and the most fun West Vancouver has to offer while seated.
Cypress Mountain's Tube Park operates on a single glorious principle: sit in an inflatable doughnut, go downhill, get towed back to the top, repeat. Six chutes run about 100 metres each, the whole thing is reserved in advance by time slot, and the flat ticket price covers everyone over the age of five, a detail that tells you something about the exact calibration of skill required. No skis to strap in, no instructor to perform competence for, just you and your date and the ancient human thrill of going downhill very fast while seated. Race side by side and trash-talk the loser. Go down spinning backwards and claim you meant to. Give it about two hours, end with hot chocolate, and arrive home with rosy cheeks and the particular joy that comes from doing something completely stupid in the best possible way.
