Romantic things to do in Sidney, BC
Seaside Sculpture Walk at Sidney Beacon Park. Photo: Town of Sidney
A waterfront walk, an aquarium, a gin tasting and dinner, all within a few blocks of Beacon Avenue.
Sidney is an easy Saanich Peninsula day for two, about 30 minutes north of Victoria and five minutes from the Swartz Bay ferry. Start at Beacon Park at the foot of Beacon Avenue, where the Seaside Sculpture Walk follows the waterfront walkway south.
The aquarium and Victoria Distillers sit side by side on Seaport Place: the distillery pours free tastings Wednesday to Sunday, though tours are paused. Eat fish and chips on the pier or book dinner at Atelier on Fifth Street, and keep Miracle Lanes, the only five-pin centre in Greater Victoria, for a wet evening. Whale tours run April to October.
