Wonderground Brings Body-Controlled Games to Oakridge Park

By Date Spark team · Published

Most mall dates involve one person holding the bags while the other promises just one more store. Wonderground offers a better use of the trip: a reservation-only games room at Oakridge Park where the floor is the screen and your body is the controller, opening Monday, November 2, 2026, Daily Hive reported on October 27.

What you're booking at Wonderground

The games are Montreal studio Moment Factory's Augmented Games, projected onto the floor of a staff-supervised room on the mall's first level in the West Galleria, according to Daily Hive. The booking page lists 45-minute sessions for two to four guests, prices from $30, which Daily Hive reports is per person, and a full refund if you cancel at least two days ahead. No headset, no controller, no hunt for batteries. You run, dodge and stomp on glowing dots while a scoreboard keeps the receipts, which is either thrilling or deeply incriminating depending on who wins.

Two players or four: the number that matters

The detail worth reading on the booking page is the player count for each game. As a pair, you can play Target (two to four players), Obstacles and Pathfinder (two to three each). Grid and Hotspot are built for two teams of two, Memory needs three or four, and Polygon three to six. So a couple on their own gets three of the seven games, while a group of four can play every one of them.

That makes this a better double date than a date for two. Bookings cap at four guests, so bring one other couple, split into teams for Grid, then settle the rivalry in Hotspot. At $30 a person that's $120 for the group, or $60 a couple, for 45 minutes that will feel shorter than you'd like.

Who should book, and who should skip

We'd book this for couples who keep score at mini golf, and for early dates that need something to do besides staring into a drink. Skip it if one of you treats running as a personal insult, because most of these games are built on sprinting, dodging and quick footwork. Wear sneakers, leave the long coat in the car, and pick a daytime slot if you want it as a weekend opener; the opening-day calendar shows sessions at noon, 1pm and 2pm. Afterwards, dessert is close by: our Beaucoup Creamery story covers the soft serve in the same complex. If you'd rather a bigger room of reaction games, our Activate Coquitlam plan is the closest comparison.
