Dine on Denman: $35 Three-Course Menus Start Nov. 5
November has a reputation as the quiet stretch between patio season and holiday parties, so 15 restaurants on one street putting out set menus feels like a small favour to everyone's bank account. Dine on Denman, the West End BIA's first neighbourhood dining event, runs November 5 to 19, 2026, with three-course menus at $35, $45 or $55 per person, Daily Hive reported on October 27.
The menus are already posted, so do the homework now
The BIA has put most of the menus on its event page, which means you can choose tonight instead of squinting at a chalkboard in November. Every menu is a starter, a main and a dessert, and the three price points work less like a festival and more like a sorting hat for your budget. At $35, Tavola has a ricotta crostini, a choice of four pastas including rigatoni pork ragu and gnocchi with brown sage butter and hazelnuts, then a lemon Positano. At $45, España lists white anchovies on toasted sourdough or a golden beet salad, then arroz con setas, ling cod or confit duck leg, with Basque cheesecake or chocolate mousse to finish. At $55, Papi's Seafood and Oyster Bar offers an optional $28 wine pairing and three oysters for $7.50 more.
The sleeper pick is Peaked Pies, whose menu is priced at $35 for two people or $18 for one: a flight of four mini pies, from chicken, mushroom and leek to an apple crumble, with a draft beer for $5 extra. It's the only menu we found priced per couple, which makes it a $17.50 a head dinner date.
Which table fits which kind of date
For a first date, we'd pick Tavola. Pasta is low-risk conversation food, $70 for two before tax and tip leaves room for a glass of wine, and nobody has to prove they can eat an oyster gracefully while being assessed. For an anniversary that doesn't want a tasting-menu bill, España's $45 menu is the one we'd circle; its rule that everyone at the table orders the Dine on Denman menu is no hardship when the table is two. For the splashier night, Papi's at $55 plus the $28 pairing comes to $166 for two before tax and tip, or $181 if you both add the oysters.
Read the fine print before you go. The Cozy Wok's deal is reservation-only and you need to say the booking is for Dine on Denman; walk-ins don't get it. Noah's Cafe takes walk-ins but asks that everyone at the table orders the set menu, which at $55 starts with a four-piece sampler including Hokkaido scallop and offers mains such as uni cream pasta.
How we'd build the night
If it were us, we'd book November 12, 13 or 14, when the free Lumière Festival lights up spots across downtown and the West End, a pairing the BIA itself suggests. Eat early, walk the lights, and let dessert settle on the way. On any other night, finish with a slow loop to English Bay; the sun is long gone by dinner in November, but the beach after dark is quieter and you can hear each other think. Three of the 15 restaurants had no menu posted when we checked, so look at the event page before booking. A three-course dinner under $40 a head feels rare enough that we'd treat this like a sale on good shoes: go early and don't overthink it.
