V-Unframed VR Art Exhibition Runs Nov. 12 to 15
V-Unframed, a virtual and extended reality art exhibition at Alliance Française Vancouver, runs November 12 to 15, 2026 at 6161 Cambie Street, with public days on November 14 and 15. It's a gallery where the art lives inside a headset, so for once the only person in the room waving at thin air will be you.
Virtual reality art from France, Mauritania, Taiwan and Vancouver
The exhibition brings together local and international virtual reality works from France, Mauritania, Taiwan and beyond, according to Stir's October 25 report, with the aim of blending art, science and technology. The organizer says more artworks will be announced, so the full lineup isn't public yet.
Worried the name means you need French? You don't. Most of the experiences are offered in several languages, some are English only and others use no language at all. The Grade 9 French we've been saving for a special occasion can stay saved.
Tickets, time slots and the public days at 6161 Cambie
The program runs in three parts: a special performance on November 12, an industry day on November 13 and the public exhibition on November 14 and 15. Alliance Française's calendar lists V-Unframed hours as 11 a.m. to 7 p.m., and everything takes place in the first-floor theatre and art gallery.
Regular tickets are $25, Alliance Française members get 25 per cent off, and kids under 12 get in free, though the organizer doesn't recommend VR headsets for children under 8. A public exhibition ticket gets you a 1.5-hour time slot. The venue is wheelchair accessible.
1 Drop 1000 Years opens the program on November 12
On November 12 at 7:30 p.m., the theatre hosts 1 Drop 1000 Years, a 30-minute performance followed by 15 minutes to meet the artist. It's listed as bilingual and suitable for all ages, with its own RSVP page at $25 regular and the same member discount. Most art leaves you guessing what it meant on the walk home; this one gives you a quarter of an hour to ask.
If it were us, we'd book a weekend slot for two people who'd rather do something side by side than trade job titles across a table. Ninety minutes gives the date a natural end point, so plan dinner after, when the opening question is already sorted: what did you see in there?
