JJ Bean Plans a New Cafe at Broadway and Fir

By Date Spark team · Published

If you've been wondering what would happen to the old Trees Organic Coffee spot at Broadway and Fir, the answer is more coffee. JJ Bean is opening a new cafe at 1598 West Broadway, listed on its website as JJ Bean Fir, Daily Hive reported on October 19, 2026. So the corner is trading Trees for a Fir.

JJ Bean Fir at 1598 West Broadway

No need to take our word for it, because JJ Bean has put it on its own website. The locations page lists JJ Bean Fir at 1598 West Broadway, Vancouver, BC V6J 5K9, tagged as opening soon. A post on the company's news page bills it as the newest Vancouver location, puts it in South Granville at Broadway and Fir, and says work on the space is underway.

According to Daily Hive, Trees Organic Coffee closed its doors at that address late last year. Details on the new location, including the opening date, haven't been revealed yet.

How to find out when it opens

The simplest way to hear when it opens: JJ Bean's locations page asks people to sign up for its newsletter, at the bottom of that page, for updates on the Fir location.

That's the update channel the company itself points to, so it's the one we'd rely on. The JJ Bean news page, where the South Granville cafe was announced, is worth checking too.

A coffee plan for Broadway

We like it when a coffee spot stays a coffee spot, and Broadway and Fir is getting exactly that. Once JJ Bean Fir opens, we'd go in the first week, order a coffee, and take it for a walk around South Granville to see how the corner feels under its new name. And if you've been meaning to ask someone out for a low-key coffee, a brand-new cafe is about the easiest excuse going.
