Elaichi Patisserie Opens With Mumbai-French Pastries

By Date Spark team · Published

Daily Hive reported on October 9, 2026 that Elaichi Patisserie, a Vancouver bakery blending French pastry technique with Mumbai spice cabinets, has opened, selling pastries from a Powell Street production kitchen and a stand inside Granville Island Public Market.

Croissants With an Identity Crisis

The menu reads like a croissant having an argument with itself. A double-baked rose pistachio croissant runs $7.25, a herb chutney cheese version is $6.50, and a pear and chai masala cinnamon croissant comes in at $6.00. A samosa croissant ($6.25) and a motichoor lemon tart ($9.00) both show as sold out on the online shop right now, which is either very good news for whoever ordered first or a listing nobody has caught up to yet.

One Pickup Day, No Walk-Ins Required

Ordering runs on a strict calendar. Everything goes through the online shop with a $35 minimum, and pickup or delivery happens Thursdays only, which quietly makes Tuesday the real deadline even though the calendar doesn't say so. The bakery itself, at 1507 Powell St, keeps limited public hours, Tuesday 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. and Wednesday through Friday 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. The rest of the city can find the pastries inside Flavours of Hope cafe at Granville Island Public Market, directly across from the JJ Bean stand.
