Eastside Culture Crawl Marks 30 Years, Nov. 19 to 22

The Eastside Culture Crawl returns November 19 to 22, 2026, for its 30th annual edition, with more than 500 artists on Vancouver's Eastside opening their studios to the public. It's four days of walking into the rooms where the art actually gets made, and this year there's a preview show to go with it.

Four days of open studios on the Eastside

The Crawl is produced by the Eastside Arts Society, which has run it every November for 30 years as a visual arts, design and craft festival. The idea is simple: artists open up the spaces where they actually work, and you get to walk in and look around. The festival covers the area bounded by Columbia Street, First Avenue, Victoria Drive and the waterfront.

Hours depend on the day. Thursday and Friday run 5pm to 10pm, and Saturday and Sunday run 11am to 6pm. The organizer pages we've seen don't list admission details, so check culturecrawl.ca before you head out.

With 500-plus artists taking part, nobody sees everything. Our suggestion is to pick a few blocks and take your time, rather than trying to cover the whole area in one go.

A new home on East Hastings and a preview show from November 5

The anniversary also comes with a new permanent home for the Eastside Arts Society at 716 East Hastings Street, according to an October 15 report from Kitsilano.ca. That space will host P.A.R.T.Y. (Pushing Art diRectly To You), a juried preview exhibition featuring 75 artists, running November 5 to 28.

If you're someone who reads the whole menu online before a dinner reservation, this is your version of that: a smaller look at 75 artists before the full four days.

How we'd do it as a pair

If it were us on a newer date, we'd pick a Thursday or Friday evening, since the 10pm close gives it a natural finish and the art gives you plenty to talk about besides yourselves. With a free weekend afternoon, the Saturday or Sunday hours let you take it slower. Comfortable shoes either way.
