Bruno Mars Spotted at La Casa Gelato in Vancouver
Most of us will never share a stage with Bruno Mars, but it turns out we can share his dessert stop. Daily Hive reported on October 20, 2026 that Mars was spotted getting ice cream at La Casa Gelato, 1033 Venables Street, based on an Instagram post from a fan account.
Why La Casa Gelato is worth the trip
Celebrity visit or not, the shop has a story of its own. It's family owned and run by three generations, and it has been making gelato since 1982. Its site says the family recipe hasn't changed, while more than 580 flavours have been added over the years.
In 2019 it claimed the Guinness World Record for the most commercially available flavours, with 238. Daily Hive also notes that its durian ice cream made a 2024 list of the world's most iconic ice cream flavours.
Hours, payment and what you can order
The shop's site lists it as open 1pm to 10pm, seven days a week, 365 days a year, and suggests checking its social media for any changes. Bring cash or debit: it takes Canadian cash, Canadian debit and U.S. cash only, with no credit cards.
Gelato, sorbetto and yogurt come as single, double or triple scoops, each with a waffle crisp cookie, or by the half litre and litre to take home. The sorbetto is made with water and fruit juice rather than milk. Its gelato page doesn't list prices.
Is La Casa a good date?
This might be one of the easiest low-key dates in the city. Choosing from that many flavours gives you something to talk about straight away. If it were us, we'd go on a weeknight, each pick a flavour the other would never order, and swap halfway through.
