There is a sandwich board on Alexander Street next to a building, and then some stairs going down, and most people in Gastown walk right past both. That is a working definition of their loss. Guilt & Co is a low, brick-arched basement lit like a rogue cantina, where two live acts work through soul, swing, funk, Latin and blues on any given night while you share tuna tostadas and inventive cocktails at a candlelit table. Most date nights run out of steam around 10pm. This one runs to 2am on weekends, which means saying one more set remains technically valid for most of the evening. Go late. Sit close. Tip the band. Let the brick ceiling and the baseline handle the rest.
