After Dark
Upstairs from Juke Fried Chicken, a tiny neon cocktail bar serves drinks named Eraserhead and hot chicken until 1am on weekends.
The Chickadee Room solved a problem nobody knew needed solving: what if a tiny, gleefully retro 80s cocktail bar were hidden upstairs from one of Vancouver's best fried chicken spots, so the drinks and the chicken could arrive at the same table without anyone having to go anywhere? It's a snug Chinatown nook done up in neon and colourful lighting, with a build-your-own cocktail card and drinks named Eraserhead and Dark Matter, and because it sits directly above Juke Fried Chicken, the chicken comes hot and crispy upstairs until 1am on weekends. This is an objectively good arrangement. Order the Dark Matter, split the chicken, and take a moment to appreciate that someone thought of this and then made it real in a room this genuinely fun.
