The cabins run from Standard units with two queen bedrooms, a full kitchen and an electric fireplace, up to Premium cabins that sleep eleven and add a gas fireplace, a covered deck and a summer fire pit. The chalets sleep up to fourteen across two private bedroom wings, which for a date supplies roughly twelve more sleeping spots than strictly necessary.

The move for two is simple: cook in your own kitchen, wander over to the Loon Lagoon pool and hot tubs, then retreat to the fireplace and shut the door on the entire outside world. Guests report the kitchens come properly stocked with utensils and dishes, and chalets include starter coffee, tea and dish soap, a thoughtful touch when the nearest supermarket is about an hour away in Hope.

Book like you mean it: chalets carry a two night minimum, a C$100 damage deposit is standard, and winter weekends and holidays disappear far in advance. Dogs travel for thirty dollars a night. After dark, step outside; there is no city in that sky and no streetlight either, just a blanket each of you will insist the other packed.

The setting

Clustered around the resort village just off Highway 3 in E.C. Manning Provincial Park, within walking distance of the Pinewoods Restaurant, the pub, the country store and the pool complex, a short drive from Lightning Lake.

Getting there

Same run as the lodge: Highway 1 east from Vancouver to Hope, then Highway 3 over Allison Pass, about 220 km and close to 3 hours all in. No ferries. There is no realistic car-free option, and you will want the trunk space for groceries anyway.

good to know

Chalets require a two night minimum stay and a C$100 damage deposit on arrival. Dog friendly units cost $30 per pet per night. Peak winter and holiday dates sell out well ahead; book directly with the resort.
