Fire Dragon Festival Returns Without Its Parade

What the organizers have planned

The Tsung Tsin Hakka Association will present a traditional Hakka Qilin dance, while the Chau Luen Athletics team brings a lion dance bench routine. Hands-on lantern-making is also on the programme. The organizers hope to bring the parade and its traditions back in 2027. For September 18-19, plan around the activities in the square rather than a procession through the streets.

Make a date of it

Making a lantern gives your hands something to do besides checking whether the other person has texted you while standing directly beside you. If a first date needs an activity with built-in conversation, this is a more interesting starting point than collectively reviewing the weather.
