Friday Night at the Shipyards Market

Free Fridays at the old North Vancouver shipyards: food trucks, live DJs, a beer garden, and the downtown skyline across the water.

Every Friday from mid-May to mid-September, the old shipbuilding yards at the foot of Lonsdale become the best free party on the North Shore. Walk in for $0 and spend the rest of the evening deciding which food truck wins, grazing past dozens of artisan stalls, lingering near the stage for live music and DJs, and standing in the pop-up beer garden with the downtown skyline glittering across the inlet like it's trying to impress you. No tickets. No plan required. SeaBus over if you want to be smug about your arrival. For seven weeks each summer the whole thing expands into a street party between St. George's and Lonsdale, which means it gets even louder and more excellent than you were expecting. Time it for sunset, let the crowd carry the evening, and see how late you stay.
