More infoThe Vancouver Horror Show is a five-day film festival celebrating horror, sci-fi, and genre cinema through premieres, filmmaker panels, and special events. The 2026 edition (October 14-18) opens with a 19th anniversary screening of the cult classic Trick 'r Treat, featuring writer-director Michael Dougherty in attendance, plus a new 4K restoration of his original animated short. The full first-wave lineup includes creature features, body-horror films, and world premieres shot in Vancouver. Screenings happen across multiple downtown cinemas with filmmaker Q&As and industry programming, so a festival date might start with an afternoon screening and afternoon coffee, continue with a late dinner and debate, and conclude with an evening feature and dessert.
