VIFF is one of the largest film festivals in North America, and for ten days each fall the downtown cinemas fill with premieres, documentaries, and shorts you will not catch anywhere else. The 2026 edition runs October 1 to 11 out of the VIFF Centre and nearby downtown screens. A festival date is easy to build: one buzzy title, then a short walk to a late table to take it apart. Tickets are sold per screening.
