Break a Sweat
Fri, Sep 18 · 5pm-10pmA free, HUB Cycling-organized night ride along the Seawall and over Burrard Bridge, with hundreds of lit-up bikes, a pre-ride festival, and two timed waves out of David Lam Park.
Bike the Night is a free, 10-kilometre evening ride organized by HUB Cycling along the Vancouver Seawall and across Burrard Bridge, returning after a five-year hiatus. It starts with a pre-ride festival at David Lam Park, food trucks, live music, free bike maintenance and light giveaways, then sends two waves of riders out as the sun sets, hundreds of decorated, lit-up bikes moving together through the dark. Bring your own bike and a light (or buy one at the festival), decorate it if you're feeling it, and ride side by side rather than racing anyone. Registration for the ride itself is free but capped at 1,000 riders and fills up; the festival stays open to everyone until 10pm either way.
