After enchanting over two million visitors worldwide, Moment Factory's Astra Lumina is transforming Stanley Park into a celestial nightwalk. The one-mile journey through nine themed areas features synchronized light projections, immersive 360-degree installations, and an original cosmic soundtrack, a format that has earned the Quebec-based studio 20 awards for its Lumina series.
What to expect on the trail
Astra Lumina guides visitors through mysteriously lit grounds where hundreds of dancing lights sync to an original score. The experience includes video-mapping technology that resurrects ancient sea creatures and transforms the natural landscape into what the studio calls a celestial pathway. Nine distinct thematic areas, from "a tale untold" to "the regeneration of the stars", unfold across the roughly one-hour walk. The terrain is natural and uneven in places, so Stanley Park's rolling hills become part of the immersion rather than an obstacle to overcome. Moment Factory designed the route to reconnect visitors with nature while layering in cutting-edge projection and sound design, creating what reviewers have called a multimedia wonderland that honors the park's 87-acre expanse.
The outdoor setting means the experience runs rain or shine, though severe weather may trigger cancellations with email notification to ticketholders. Visitors can reschedule up to 48 hours in advance if needed. The venue is cashless, and metal detectors and bag checks are part of entry protocols. Flash photography is prohibited to preserve the immersive atmosphere for all guests, though standard photography and social sharing are encouraged.
Tickets, timing and logistics
Adult general admission starts at $35.90, with children (ages 4 to 12) at $25.90 and seniors, students, and military at a reduced rate. Children under 4 enter free. Family bundles (minimum three tickets, maximum two adults) and group discounts (minimum eight tickets) are available. A Celestial Package add-on includes a double-walled vacuum-sealed tumbler and beverage for additional cost. Tickets are sold through the Fever app or website, and transfers between people are free. Arrive 15 minutes early to complete a required liability waiver; children under 18 must be added to a parent's or guardian's form.
Limited paid parking is available onsite, and public transit serves the venue via the Historic Stanley Bus Loop. Beverages and snacks are available for purchase; outside food and alcohol are not permitted. Strollers are allowed but may be difficult on narrow, bumpy sections. Service animals are welcome, though pets are not. Restrooms and limited seating along the trail are provided, and guests requiring personal assistance can apply for one free carer ticket.
