Burdy Opens Soft Launch on Granville Island

By Date Spark · Published

Burdy quietly started serving the public on Friday, October 2, 2026, at 1441 Anderson Street on Granville Island, after an opening that had already slipped by a few months. For now it only exists on weekends, and only until the food runs out.

What's actually open right now

Burdy's soft opening runs Friday through Sunday, with no confirmed dates beyond this initial run. Friday hours are 11am to 4pm or until sold out, while Saturday and Sunday run 9am to 4pm or until sold out, according to the restaurant's own site. That sold-out clause is doing a lot of work here: there is no posted fallback hour, so showing up at 3:55pm on a Sunday is a bet, not a plan.

The restaurant previously operated as a chicken sandwich concept out of a bus, per Vancouver Is Awesome's reporting, which makes the move into a fixed Granville Island address with actual walls a meaningful upgrade in permanence, if not yet in schedule reliability.

Where to find it

Granville Island already rewards wandering, and 1441 Anderson Street slots Burdy into that mix without ceremony. There is no grand-opening date yet, no announced weekday service, and no word on when the soft-opening training wheels come off. Treat anything beyond this first weekend run as unconfirmed until Burdy or a local outlet reports otherwise.
