Magic of Fall Returns to Taves Family Farms Through Oct. 31
Taves Family Farms' Magic of Fall runs through October 31, 2026, with its usual mazes and pumpkin patch joined by Autumn's Avenue, a foliage-lined walkway now strung with vintage chandeliers.
Chandeliers Among the Corn Stalks
Autumn's Avenue, the farm's passage through the fall foliage, is now hung with vintage chandeliers, the kind of detail that suggests somebody at the farm has strong feelings about ambient lighting. It joins the returning features that make up most of the draw: a Magical Pumpkin Garden, a petting barn stocked with slides and trikes, a pumpkin patch styled around a princess carriage, two jumping pillows, three corn mazes of varying difficulty, and u-pick fruit fields charged by the bucket or bag. If you have ever wanted to find out whether your date can finish the hardest maze without quietly asking a farmhand for directions, this is the venue for it.
Hours, Passes and the Weekend Catch
Weekdays run 10 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. with no pass required, so you can wander in, pick an apple and leave without ever consulting a website. Weekends and holidays switch to 9:30 a.m. to 6 p.m., and guests who only want to pick pumpkins need to buy an online Pumpkin Picking Pass in advance to guarantee a spot, a rule that also applies on Thanksgiving Monday, October 12. For the full Magic of Fall experience, two main tiers exist instead: the Fun Pass covers the pumpkin garden, one ride on the Mystical Slide, the petting barn, both jumping pillows, the mazes and u-pick access, while the SuperFUN Pass adds unlimited slide rides and a hayride around the property. Gate tickets cost $3 more per person than passes booked at least 24 hours ahead, which is the farm's polite way of telling you to plan the date before you show up.
Worth Booking Ahead For
For couples, it's a low stakes excuse to spend an afternoon arguing over which maze path is correct and which pumpkin is structurally sound enough to carry home. Book the Pumpkin Picking Pass online before a weekend visit, or pick a weekday if neither of you wants to commit to a schedule in advance.
